2021, 6 x 6 x 1.5 inches each, soil, mold, acrylics and cactus spines on canvas

Canvases were buried in San Diego canyon soil and rocks to accumulate mold and mineral stains before “harvesting” them and sterilizing for painting and safe exhibition. They incorporate original photographic digital images of local seedpods and cacti, as well as words that apply to both ecological and human psychological development. The title references sustainable development studies of environmental impacts.
