This piece is part of my project surveying and abstracting fractal patterns that reoccur from micro to macro scale, such as appear in cellular structures and microorganisms, geological formations, and galactic and planetary nebulae. Here I have applied this technique to the human face, treating its topographical shadows as independent bodies floating or embedded within their own archipelagos.
